Attendance Policy
All students are expected to attend all their classes. Teachers are required to keep all registers up-to-date, noting when students are absent and late.
When students are absent, unless they have telephoned previously, they should see the Principal on their return to explain their absence. This is particularly important for students from outside Europe who have been granted a student visa to study here. They should be in class 100% of the time.
Students will first be given a verbal warning and reminded that high attendance if of vital importance, both for improving their English and for their visa requirements.
They will then receive a written warning should their attendance continue to be poor.
The Home Office will then be informed should this continue.
We need to know of any problems that may be causing students to miss class in order that we may try to resolve them. High attendance levels and punctuality are important at NSL.
