Tammy Yeadon - Principal
Tammy founded NSL in 2001 and teaches Spanish and English, as well as being responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. She graduated in Ibero-American Studies (Spanish and Portuguese) from Leeds University and has spent time teaching English in Chile and London.
Cheryl Greenlay - Director of Studies
Hello, I’m Cheryl, Director of Studies and I’ve been teaching for 15 years now. I have an overall merit pass in the newly revised Cambridge DELTA which means I can offer students the most up to date and effective learning programmes. I am also a well experienced IELTS examiner which helps me a lot professionally. I’ve worked for Tammy since the beginning and although I’ve taken breaks to travel and have a family, I’ve always returned here because it’s a genuinely friendly and rewarding place to be!
The main reason why I love my job is that I can make a positive difference to teaching and learning and I love exchanging ideas with people from different countries. I enjoy cooking, photography, pilates and as well as having a young daughter I've just adopted a little dog so I'm really quite busy!
Nicholas Thomas - Operations Manager
I have worked at NSL since September 2004 and I currently hold the title of Operations Manager. This means as well as teaching English, I work closely with the Director of Studies and the Administration team in the everyday running of the school.
As well as teaching General English, I have several years experience of teaching IELTS preparation courses to prepare students for university entry.
I studied Classical Civilization at Leeds University and graduated in 2003 before undertaking a CELTA at Leeds Metropolitan University. I am very interested in Ancient cultures, peoples and societies with my main hobbies being reading and watching films.
I really like my job because it gives me the opportunity to meet students from all over the world, help them and learn a little about their lives, culture and country in the process.

Student Services
Hi I'm Akira, I'm from Japan and worked for a Japanese language school for foreign students in Tokyo as a receptionist for three years, dealing with students from various countries and helping their studies and supporting the teachers.
I studied English at college and have used English in all of my jobs. I have experienced studying English as a foreign language, therefore I'm happy to help students.
I moved from Tokyo to Leeds in 2008 and started working at NSL since January 2009. I'm currently working as Administration Supervisor, mainly dealing with student enrolment, enquires and visa applications. I like watching films, drawing and making jewellery.
